Language Ability
At the almost all Japanese company, one of important requirements to a job candidate is Japanese language ability.
In case of the foreign companies, the head office is overseas so the branch office in Japan is placed as sales office for Japan market or Asia market. Almost all branch office in Japan makes a contract to the distributor companies, so in general Japanese language ability (JLPT Level-2 or more) is needed even if a position is in the engineering division.

UIEC was established in 2003 in order to teach excellent Japanese language to overseas students.
The objectives of oversea students are to enter into higher educational facilities or to get a position at the company in Japan. Admission month is Apr/Jul/Oct/Jan, its course length
is 1 year∼2 years.
UIEC can accept students who are already resident in Japan.

The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) has been offered by the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services since 1984 as a reliable means to evaluate and certify the Japanese proficiency of non-native speakers. A summary of required linguistic competence is as follows.
N1 : the ability to understand Japanese used in a variety of circumstances.
N2 : The ability to understand Japanese used in everyday situations, and in a variety of circumstances to a certain degree.
